The Marvellous Melbourne walking group visited central Melbourne on Wednesday 2 March to explore some of the hidden aspects of our city and the stories behind them.
Who knew that Spencer Street was named after Princess Diana’s ancestor! It was a wonderful feeling to be out and about again after such a difficult two years.
We made sure we supported some of our struggling businesses by finishing with a coffee break before some members of the group set off for further adventures.
Imagine our surprise when, as we passed the Town Hall, Lord Mayor Sally Capp, welcomed us back to the city. She was very interested in what we were doing and graciously agreed to have her photo taken with the group. We are looking forward to our second walk in one month’s time to the Little Lon area of the city.
