Thanks for keeping the wheels turning!

Liz Hooper

A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has kept the wheels turning at U3A Nunawading during the latest lockdowns! Many Class Leaders and other support people have given their time generously moving outside of their comfort zone to keep in touch with their class mostly by Zoom, but also via email. It’s a credit to everyone how well we have all learnt to master aspects of technology that were completely unknown to us just two years ago.

Valerie Donlon (Communications) and Helen Smith (webmaster) have kept us all well informed at every stage of the pandemic with regular e-Updates. They have also done a great job of keeping our website updated throughout all the changes of COVID-19 restrictions.

Please remember to visit our website regularly for all relevant information!

Elsie Mutton and Ken Briscoe have continued to adapt class timetables to whatever the prevailing COVID-19 restrictions have allowed us to offer. As a result of their hard work, we are able to offer a limited number of face-to-face classes at the Hub for the last three weeks of this year from 8 – 26 November. You will be contacted if your class is one of these.

Thanks to our Committee of Management members who have worked hard behind the scenes during these lockdowns. It is amazing how much work is involved. Everything is harder and more time consuming when we’re working in isolation. On the positive side, it has kept us all active and involved, but we can’t wait to be back together again. I’m sure you all feel the same way!

Farewell Melinda Brown

A couple of weeks ago we received news that Hub Coordinator, Melinda Brown, is leaving us for another position.

It is a big loss as she has been a great supporter of U3A Nunawading. We congratulate her on her new position and wish her well in her new role.

We welcome Melissa Moldrich who is taking on this role in the short term.

Warm regards to you all!

Liz Hooper, President (on behalf of the Committee of Management)
