Elsie Mutton and Ken Briscoe - our Course Admin team

How exciting. We are so pleased to advise that a limited number of classes can return to face-to-face learning for the last three weeks of term 4.

If you have not been contacted about returning to class, then it means your class could not be held under the current restrictions. Unfortunately, we are unable to use many of our rooms, as class numbers would not fit within the 4-sq mt rule.

Conditions for entering the Hub

Before entering the Hub, we will all need to provide proof of our vaccination status to the Council COVID-19 Marshalls. The best option is to link your vaccination certificate to the Service Victoria app on your smart phone. Alternatively, you can show a printed copy of your certificate.

If you have not already linked your certificate on your phone, there are simple instructions on how to do so in a separate article in this newsletter.

You are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for the purposes of attending a venue if you have received both doses of the vaccine, or you have a valid medical exemption to COVID-19 vaccination.

Masks are mandatory indoors. According to the Victorian Government advice “You do not need to wear a face mask when exercising if you are out of breath or puffing.”

The only entrance door operating at the Hub will be the Main Reception entry facing Springvale Road. The door to the Esdale Street carpark will be locked for the time being.

Remember if you have not been contacted, your class is not operating face-to-face for the remainder of term 4 2021.

Preparing for 2022

The Course Admin team have been working hard to get the Summer School and General classes ready for enrolment.

There are some interesting new classes being offered in 2022. You will be able to view all classes online from 15 November and enrol on 29 November. Make sure you check the day, venue and time of your class as there have been some changes.

How to Enrol Webinars

Helen Smith will be holding online webinars on how to re-enrol on 18 and 23 November. More details on how to register for these webinars will be in our next Update.

Community Garden

Our community garden at the Hub took a bit of a beating in last Thursday night’s storm but while the broad beans are on a bit of a lean now, members might like to swing by and pick a few pods over the coming weeks while they are young and tasty.

Stay safe and I look forward to catching up with some of you in the last three weeks of term.
