We hope you are happily settling in to your 2022 classes. In the first week of term we ran over 200 classes with more than 1750 members coming through the Hub.
Thank you for your patience as the Course Admin Team dealt with the various changes to classes and the other incidentals that were thrown at us as we returned.
ESL leaders needed
Our ESL classes are very popular and are currently experiencing waitlists. If you have the skills and would like to take an ESL class please contact Elsie, Course Administrator via the Reception Desk or email
A few reminders
Please be punctual to classes or you may find you are asked to leave the class, turn your mobile phone to silent or off (this includes your smart watch), wear your name badge whilst you are in the Hub or attending any U3A function, and advise by email or telephone if you are going to be away for three weeks or more.
Please do not ring the office asking where you are on a class waitlist. There is no 1, 2, 3 order. If a place becomes available, we look at the number of classes those on the waitlist are accepted into and choose the one who may have the least number of classes or is not in a duplicate class.
If you send an email asking to be withdrawn from a class, please make sure you give your membership number or full name. Receiving an email from just Mary takes time to find which Mary.
Air conditioning: we are aware that at times some rooms are very cold. The Hub management are working on it. Please bring a cardigan or coat if you are experiencing discomfort.
You still need to show your Vaccination Certificate to enter the Hub
To help make this easier for you, the Hub Manager has put together a ‘how to’ sheet on adding the Nunawading Community Hub to your mobile phone Service Victoria app. This will enable you to tap on the site and it will take you straight to the check-in button and your vaccination certificate. This flyer with instructions can be downloaded or you can pick up a copy at the Reception Desk.
Grow your own U3A sweet peas
Sweet pea seeds were harvested from the magnificent display in our community garden last season.
For anyone wanting to grow some at home, the seeds will be available from the Reception Desk ready for planting in mid-March
