Lots to entertain at Summer School

This year’s Summer School, which ended last week, provided a record number of lectures and activities for members over the long summer break. From making baskets out of used plastic to making digital photo albums, there was something for everyone.

From boot camp to ikebana, from shaking a tambourine to embroidering in a hoop, the Hub was alive with activity over the six days.

Meet members and support your U3A

If you would like to get involved and find out more about how our U3A works, why not offer to volunteer one or two half days a month on the Reception Desk.

You will get to meet lots of your fellow members and feel part of the great team that keeps our organisation running so efficiently.

Outlook is very positive for 2022

The outlook for U3A Nunawading in 2022 is looking very positive! We had over 1,500 enrolments in the first week with many classes already full. Our members are clearly excited to be back, and new members are eager to join. Welcome to you all!
Last week was party time where we thanked our hard workers and many classes held their own end-of-year celebrations.

From the Course Admin Team

I do hope you have all been accepted into at least one class of your choice. If you have not, be assured we are working with our Leaders and room space to see if we can address this problem.

In other news, we said farewell to several leaders who are not continuing. A great big thank you to these members who have given of their time to share their skills with so many.

Leaders’ Lunch a big success

After many years of holding our end-of-year Class Leaders and Key Volunteers Lunch in the magnificent Box Hill Town Hall ‘bringing it home’ to the Hub was a bit of an unknown quantity. However, the 160 guests joined in the festive spirit very quickly to make it a success as they celebrated the end of a ‘different’ year and caught up with their fellow leaders and volunteers.

Reception Desk Volunteers get together

After a year of stops and starts for our nearly 100 Reception Desk Volunteers it was great to see so many of them gathered together on Tuesday 7 December for morning tea.

Around 60 volunteers including members of the Committee of Management enjoyed the relaxed social event at the Hub that rounded off the year for our friendly crew.
